The Psychological Association of the Philippines in partnership with the University of San Carlos is pleased to host the 2015 Asian Association of Social Psychology’s 11th Biennial Convention. The conference which will be held from Aug 19-22, 2015 seeks to be a venue for exchange of best practices and cutting edge research in psychology in Asia.  With the theme "Psychology and Asian Societies in the Midst of Change", the conference will feature international experts who will speak on topics that include psychology of poverty, psychology of collective action, justice, leadership and social change, psychology of dictatorship and democracy, among others.

             Aside from the keynote and plenary talks, the conference will include several symposia organized by various distinguished psychological scientists on issues and themes relevant to social change, particularly in the region.  Parallel and poster sessions will also showcase current work by researchers. The conference will also feature learning sessions on cutting edge trends. Prior to the conference the AASP summer school for graduate students and new PhD graduates will be held at the University of San Carlos. The invited international speakers will be the mentors for summer school.   PAP will also be hosting pre-conference workshops to hone skills in psychological practice, teaching and research.

            Cebu City is dubbed "Queen City of the South." It is the oldest and one of the most developed cities in the Philippines and a significant hub of culture and education. A tourist gateway to Central and Southern Philippines, it has an international airport with direct flights from Hongkong, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Japan, China, South Korea, Bangkok and Manila. There are many monuments, churches, museums and cathedrals in Cebu City that reflect the rich historical legacy of the city.  It also boasts a number of pristine beaches for snorkeling and diving.
